EMILY C. CHANG is a writer, actress, and performer based in New York City. She is a founding member of renowned spoken word group, I Was Born with Two Tongues, which was named in A. Magazine's "A List" of Top 25 Most Influential Asian Americans. Emily's background stems from a variety of fields, including journalism, creative writing, music, and TV/film. Emily's writing has appeared in a number of publications, including Colorlines Magazine, Blu Magazine, the Columbia Poetry Review, A. Magazine, & AsianWeek; and her singing has appeared in a number of albums, including 2 Tongues' "Broken Speak," and hip-hop album "Typical Cats." Emily is also a founding member/ former artistic director of Mango Tribe, a women's performance arts collective. She co-wrote/directed their premiere production, "Mangoes, Cigarettes, and My Mama's Hands" (Chopin Theater, Chicago), and the sold-out runs of original production "Sisters in the Smoke" in Chicago (Vittum Theater, 2002) and New York (HERE Arts Center Mainstage, 2003). Emily received her BA in English from the University of Chicago and her MA in Performance Studies from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. When she isn't shooting on set, she is working on her novel, which is very much a work-in-progress.

JENNIFER CENDANA ARMAS is an-actor/dancer/singer/writer/violinist/community worker from NYC. Her show, skinimin12, premiered at 2004's Downtown Urban Theatre Festival and later featured at 2006's New York City Hip Hop Theater Festival at the Public Theater. She is company member of We Got Issues and feature contributor of the book of the same name. Poetry features include: Lincoln Center's La Casita, Joe's Pub's Urban Griots, World Stage and 'da Poetry Lounge ( L.A.), Lizard Lounge (Boston), Esperanza Peace and Justice Center (Houston), Harvard University, Ladyfest Bristol, Speakeasy and Poetry Café (London), Poetry Vandals Present…(Newcastle,UK). TV: Spoken (Black Family Channel), Word (FreeSpeech TV), Curvations (PSA). Publications include: My Mouth May Not Know the Words But Everything Else Understands (self-published), NYU Review for Law and Social Change, AWOL, Aesthetica, X, Monsoon. Jennifer has extensively organized and taught political arts and activist workshops in schools, prisons and community based organizations internationally.

TAIYO NA, poet/musician/actor and native New Yorka, is Artistic Director of the Sulu Series, a host for the 2006 NAMIC Vision Award-winning Cinema AZN show (AZN TV), and a member of Queens Poet Laureate Ishle Yi Park's Danger & Beauty Tour. Over the years, he's been featured in many recordings, publications and films including his EP The Whole Heart Mixtape (2005), The Quotable Rebel Anthology by Teishan Latner (2005) and Kevin So's classic album A Brighter Day (2007). Throughout the U.S., he has shared the stage with the best of them, such as Maya Angelou, Eddie Palmieri, Helen Zia, The X-ecutioners and more at venues such as Lincoln Center, The Public Theater, and Knitting Factory. R.A VILLANUEVA holds graduate and undergraduate degrees from Rutgers University. Twice awarded a Geraldine R. Dodge scholarship to the Fine Arts Work Center, he is a former high school educator now involved with literary outreach programs throughout New York. His poems appear in a number of journals and his songwriting has been featured at the Bowery Poetry Club and the Nuyorican Poets Café. An inaugural Kundiman fellow, he is currently pursuing a MFA at New York University, where he serves as the Assistant Poetry Editor of Washington Square.
