Citizen Fish are a ska punk band that have been together since the early 1990s. The band is known for their lyrics, which often make strong social and political statements, dealing with themes such as anti-consumerism, vegetarianism, questioning of the status quo and the general encouragement of people to get along with one another. MDC has been recording an original mix of rock, jazz and r&b for almost 20 years creating a signature sound. The band is anchored by the songwriting and vocals of Michael Dean Carr and the legendary rhythm section of Chuck Rainey and Bernard Purdie along with Jon Dryden on keyboards and Donnie McCaslin on saxophone.
